Toward the west below the giant structure of two red shopping bags, resting on the face of Macy’s building, is a small Giant Black and White chess display used by Chess NYC.
Visiting
Look East, the Empire State Building, another mammoth architectural icon scrapes the skies, while below another wonder beyond the sight, smell, sound; here at Herald Square 34th and Broadway. Business and officials, tourist and local folks enjoying the simple grandeur of emotional satisfaction through chess!
I became enthralled in a game on the “Big Board” Afterward was told by Russell ” There were forty people watching that game” So I pay attention for beside the peanut gallery, descending/visiting from the various boroughs. The chess shh.. shh.. schools:
Bronx, Brooklyn, Harlem, Queens, Long Island did I hear from you?
Staten Island are they shy? Not to worry, you too can be safe under the protective umbrellas of Chess NYC from the rain planet… for now!
